So often, we think of love in the month of February as solely romantic. As I've pondered this past year and about all the lack of love that existed I really want to dig deep this week into self reflecting about how well or not-so-well we loved our neighbors this past year. I'm defining 'neighbor' as our fellow human beings; so this encompasses basically anyone who isn't in your family or close friend circle. Think of at least one encounter either in person or on a social media platform. What was memorable about that interaction? Do you believe you loved your neighbor well? If you did, how did you go about measuring your encounter as a success? If you didn't, what could you have done differently given the particulars of the situation? Remember, our conversations on this platform are only as robust as the responses so reply honestly and transparently so we can really dig in this week.
*Bonus Journaling Prompt- Write a brief letter to a person you didn't love well.

One event or circumstance that stands out particularly for me. ... when I am driving! Although my neighbor may not hear me I know that my God hears what I’m saying about my neighbor and it’s not kind or pleasant. I can do everything differently when in those situations. But I hear you loud and clear. We as Christians and as people can take loving our neighbor to such a higher level, especially considering the year we had. Many of the comments I see online when someone is writing their perception of a video or a political event lacks consideration and love for our neighbor. It is a reflection of the state that we are in as a society.
